Trashy Yet Classy: The 4th Annual Youth Art Exhibit at the Spring Faire

2015 Childrens ARt Show email heading_smallCalling all young artists! The Environmental Nature Center is accepting works of art for the 4th Annual Youth Art Exhibit at the Spring Faire on May 3rd. This gives kids a chance to spread their own environmental message through their artistic talents.

This year’s theme is “Trashy Yet Classy,” which presents an opportunity for kids to utilize the waste generated by our society and turn it into something environmentally meaningful.

“This show gives youth an opportunity to look at consumables and how they affect our environment,” says Outreach Coordinator Sama Wareh. “An added bonus is that they also have an opportunity to educate and influence others through their art.”

Kids can either paint on trash or create their art from trash. Youth ages 4-18 can submit their works of art from April 11th to the 27th. The young artists will have their pieces judged for a chance to win a $50 Art Supply Warehouse gift card for first place winners, an Art Supply Kit donated by the Saddleback College Fashion Program for second place winners, and a $20 gift certificate from the ENC’s Nature’s Gifts store!

There are plenty of incentives to spread those artistic wings and we can’t wait to see what you have to share! For more information, visit the event page HERE. – Nathan Serafin, ENC Communications Intern
