Quality care is supported by our 1:6 educator to child ratios. All classrooms run above required Licensing standards, allowing for more individualized interactions. (TEACHER-CHILD RATIO 101216.3 (a) There shall be a ratio of one teacher visually observing and supervising no more than 12 children in attendance)

Our high-quality ENC Nature Preschool Teaching Staff have obtained or are working towards ECE/HD degrees and consistently engage in ongoing professional development. All classrooms have Teaching Staff with various levels of Child Development Permits and/or have Outdoor Classroom Training. They are dedicated and passionate about working with young children which is evident in their daily engagement with children and knowing each child. ENC Nature Teachers inspire learning and support constructive, social and emotional pedagogy.
Nature Preschool Philosophy:
ENC Nature Preschool will foster children’s’ inquisitive nature and facilitate deeper skills with observation, exploration, investigation, inquiry, and experimentation in a natural setting. They continually expand their learning through new experiences with nature’s wonder and discoveries using those skills. Children will have ample time, space, and materials to allow these experiences to unfold and provoke their thinking about the world. This hands-on, nature-based approach will generate a love of learning that will carry on through the lifetime of our children.
Our approach to learning provides children with opportunities to discover themselves, the world, and life. Experiences in the natural world meet children’s developmental needs by encouraging fine and gross motor development, sensory experiences, and opportunities for social interactions, building effective communication and problem- solving skills. By helping children connect with the natural world, we hope to inspire a love of nature, foster an environmental ethic, and encourage a lifelong caring and kind attitude.
A State-of-the-Art Learning Environment:
Our thoughtfully designed indoor and outdoor spaces provide engaging environments where children can explore, grow, and develop their minds, bodies, and spirits. Nature is woven into every aspect of their experience, with nature-based learning happening both indoors and outdoors, in whole groups, small groups, and individual explorations. Through a balance of teacher-facilitated activities, child-led interests, and spontaneous discoveries, learning unfolds in our Nature Playscape areas and throughout the ENC grounds.
