Birthday Parties

Supporting members are invited to schedule their bEARTHday Party at an ENC facility!

The ENC has some wonderful educational options for birthday parties! bEARTHday Parties can be scheduled at either the Environmental Nature Center in Newport Beach or at Tucker Wildlife Sanctuary in Modjeska Canyon. All parties and events that occur at the ENC or Tucker MUST be scheduled through ENC staff. Outside vendors are usually not allowed and may NOT provide services within the ENC grounds without the express permission of ENC staff. The ENC is committed to diverting 95% or more of its waste from the landfill. Please review our Zero Waste Policy prior to visiting the Center.

Junior Naturalist bEARTHday Parties

for children ages 3 and up

Children age 3 and up are invited to bring up to 19 of their friends for a fun birthday experience! Each 2-hour reservation includes a naturalist-guided exploration of the grounds with several stops to meet a few of our live animals. This program is of course adjusted for any age group. A $22 fee is charged for each child in addition to the $100 membership. Max 20 children. Min 10.

Campfire bEARTHday Parties

for children ages 6 and up

Children turning 6 and up are invited to bring up to 19 of their friends for a party they will never forget! Each 2-hour reservation includes a night hike, fire-making demo, and roasting marshmallows. A $32 fee is charged for each child in addition to the $100 membership. This includes all the ingredients to make s’mores! Available only on Friday or Saturday afternoons; timing is flexible depending on sunset. Max 20 children. Min 10.

FAQs

Why do you limit the number of children that can attend a bEARTHday party? There are two reasons: one is for the safety of the kids. Even through there are usually lots of adults around, the Naturalist is ultimately responsible for the safety of everyone at the Nature Center. The second reason is because we want everyone to have a great time. If the group is too large the experience is not as fabulous, and it reflects negatively on the Center.

bEARTHday Party Policies

bEARTHday parties are kind to the earth! Children learn about their environment while having fun and creating minimal waste. For this reason, balloons are not allowed at the ENC. More info on how balloons are harmful to the environment, HERE. Only reusable dishes and utensils are to be used. Individual plastic water bottles are not allowed. Disposable plastic and Styrofoam are prohibited. Upon request, the ENC can provide reusable plates, utensils, and cups for free in the agreement the contract signer will wash, dry, and put the items away. ENC staff can wash, dry, and put away the used items for for an additional $1/person fee. If ENC staff is left washing items a charge of $1/person fee will be charged.

Virtual Birthday Parties

Bring in the ENC for a virtual animal encounter for your child’s next birthday party! While we’re all still isolating from our families and loved ones, this can be a great way to bring a little fun to everyone tuned in to your child’s Zoom party. For a $50 donation, one of our ENC naturalists will present a 30 minute animal encounter to all your guests. And while everyone is gathered together, why not sing ‘happy birthday’ to the guest of honor?
