Education Programs Manager

Are you passionate about nature, education, and inspiring the next generation of environmental stewards?

The Environmental Nature Center (ENC) is seeking an organized, enthusiastic, and mission-driven Education Programs Manager to help lead one of Southern California’s most respected environmental education programs.

For more than 50 years, the ENC has connected children, families, teachers, and our community with nature through hands-on environmental education. Our programs serve thousands of students each year at our LEED Platinum campus in Newport Beach and at ENC Tucker Wildlife Sanctuary in Modjeska Canyon.

This is a unique opportunity to join a collaborative team that believes meaningful experiences in nature can change lives.

About the Position

The Education Programs Manager is the operational heart of our education department. You’ll coordinate school field trips, Traveling Naturalist programs, Nature Camps, and professional development while recruiting, scheduling, training, and supporting our outstanding team of Naturalists.

This is a hands-on leadership position. In addition to managing the education program, you’ll occasionally teach school and public programs, mentor new educators, and model the engaging, inquiry-based teaching style that makes the ENC’s programs so successful. Because you’ll be training and coaching our Naturalists, you should be an exceptional educator who enjoys sharing your knowledge and helping others grow. Please review the entire Job Description prior to applying.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys bringing order to complex schedules, leading people, solving problems, and ensuring every student has an exceptional experience in nature.

We’re Looking For Someone Who Is:

  • Passionate about environmental education and the ENC’s mission
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • A supportive and positive team leader
  • An excellent communicator with teachers, staff, volunteers, and families
  • Experienced in education, outdoor learning, camps, museums, zoos, aquariums, nature centers, or similar organizations

Salary

$60,000–$75,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.

How to Apply
