Thursday, August 22nd

7AM – 8AM Early Morning Yoga.  Greet the morning with sun salutations and stretches!
9 – 11:30AM Paddle boarding at Upper Newport Bay:  California is known for surfing, but have you ever tried standing up on a surfboard and paddling your way around the bay? Well, bring $25 and come join in an hour of paddle boarding fun.
4:45 – 6PM Tidepool exploration at Corona Del Mar:  Nestled behind large fancy houses, the Corona Del Mar tide pools are a hidden gem in Orange County. Explore tidepools, get some sun!
4:45 – 6PM Group Bicycle Ride to the Beach:  Hop on a beach cruiser and hit the beach like a local. Bring spending money if you wanted to buy ice cream or coffee along the way.
4:45 – 6PM Organic chocolate making Activity:  Join Deanna Moore from Flow Foods Chocolate for some hands-on fun with sustainable chocolate making!
9 – 10:30PM Gather around the campfire and sample California wines and locally brewed beer. Enjoy a live performance by the Shadybrook Band, combining Bluegrass, Folk, and Swing to bring you the best of the best on fiddle and banjo.

Friday, August 23rd

7AM – 8AM Early Morning Yoga: Greet the morning with sun salutations and stretches!
9:15AM – 12PM Crystal Cove Ecology Hike and the Shake Shack:  Visit some local tide pools, then go get yourself a nice cold shake at the famous Shake Shack.
3 – 6PM Craft Bar:  Make beautiful upcycled jewelry and magnets to take back to your staff!
3:30 – 5:30PM Tidepool Exploration at Corona Del Mar:  Nestled behind large fancy houses, the Corona Del Mar tide pools are a hidden gem in Orange County. Explore tidepools, get some sun!
4:30 – 5:30PM Bird of Prey:  Meet Peggy Chase and live raptors from the OC Bird of Prey Center.  Discover the unique adaptations of our local species, and learn more about caring for Birds of Prey at your Center.
9PM – ? Gather around the campfire and sample California wines and locally brewed beer.

Saturday, August 24th

7AM – 8AM Early Morning Yoga:  Greet the morning with sun salutations and stretches!
7 – 8:30AM Early Morning Upper Newport Bay Birding:  Stroll along the Upper Newport Bay estuary looking for birds and other critters.  Birding trip sponsored by Alpen Optics.
10:30A – 12:15P Newport Beach and Balboa Pier exploration:  Get a ride over to the Pier to just hang out by the beach for some unguided, unplanned wandering around Newport Beach.
10:30A – 12:15P Mystery Group Bicycle Ride.  Find out the destination by keeping up with the guide. Where will you bike to? Only the guide knows… Muahaha.
7 – 9:30PM Patio Party under the Stars – After a rejuvenating week of learning, sharing, and exploring, its time to party. So pack your baggies, Huarachi sandals, and bushy bushy blonde hairdo and and come party with the All-Star Trio. Gather around the campfire and sample California wines and locally brewed beer.

 

Shadybrook Bluegrass Band

The Shadybrook Bluegrass band is Rick Dunham and Candy Girard.  Rick, a native Californian, is a multi-instrumentalist and versatile singer. He has been a professional musician in L.A. and Orange Co. for the past 30 years. Specializing in 5-string banjo, guitar and bass, Rick’s credits include music videos with Roy Orbison and Shania Twain. Rick’s banjo playing can be heard on the theme to the animated T.V.  classic “South Park.” Rick has performed at Disneyland in Anaheim CA for the past ten years in various bluegrass bands, including “Billy Hill and the Hillbillies” in Frontierland.

Candy Girard is a highly sought after studio fiddler in the L.A. music scene. Her fiddle can be heard on the TV show “Fire Fly” and video game “World of StarCraft.”  Candy’s musical credits include touring with such music legends as Shirley Bassey, Hank Thompson, and Johnny Lee. Candy’s violin can be heard on Jerry Garcia’s solo album “Cats Down Under the Stars.” T.V. performances include The Jay Leno Show with Clint Black and Tanya Tucker, The Jimmie Kimmel Show, and “Who’s Line is it Anyway”. Candy is a versatile player and singer. She has performed in bluegrass bands at Disney’s California Adventure, Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm and many other venues.

 

All Star Trio

The All Star Trio (AST) has been entertaining the masses at bars, clubs and private events for more years than they care to admit, but combined they have over 60 years of performing experience. The shows are always energy and surprise filled.  Led by veteran workhorse drummer/vocalist Dominic Tucci, AST covers all types and styles of material from the 50’s to current modern rock.  On bass and lead vocals is Joey Ojeda.  Joey is another multi-band artist whom you may recognize from an appearance on Bobby Flay’s Food Nation TV show where he and Dominic were part of the featured guest band. Mark Wein rocks AST with guitar and vocal duties.  Mark is a consummate professional who teaches others to play guitar as well.  Mark also fronts his own original band. He knows 100′s of songs and can always find something to please even the most discriminating audience.
