Attention animal lovers: Scorpions, lizards and wolves (oh my)!
Are you an animal lover? Come check out a variety of amphibians, reptiles, birds, mammals, insects and more at the 9th annual Spring Faire, hosted by the Environmental Nature Center on May 4, 2014!
Visitors will include representatives from the Orange County Bird of Prey Center (both humans and their feathery friends). The OC Bird of Prey Center is a volunteer organization dedicated to treating and rehabilitating injured raptors and returning them to the wild. They will have live hawks and owls on display. The Orange County Reptile Rescue is an organization that educates the public about exotic animals and finds homes for reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, and other exotic animals. They will feature a variety of amazing reptiles and invertebrates. Francisco the Bug Guy will have tarantulas, stick bugs, scorpions, Madagascar cockroaches, and centipedes. Last but not least, the Wolf Totem Ambassadors will be on hand with their ambassador wolves. That’s right, real life wolves! The Wolf Totem Ambassadors mission is to dispel myths and misconceptions concerning wolves and North American wildlife through education and raising awareness.
Along with the live animals featured at the Spring Faire, other activities include a children’s art show and contest, crafts, face painting and henna tattoos, a native plant sale, entertainment around the “Fire Circle Stage,” and the Taste of Orange County. We hope to see you there! For more information, please visit our website! – Marisa Rojas, ENC Intern
