Virtual Homeschool Series
Are you still relying on distance learning, but eager for some unique experiences with nature? Our Virtual Homeschool Series might be a great solution for you and your homeschooler. Your students will observe and explore our native plant communities and wildlife under the guidance of a trained ENC Naturalist. You will sign up for this monthly series, which convenes at the same time and day each week. Each month will have a different topic, and each class will include activities, animal encounters, and nature journaling assignments that tie into the theme. An adult ‘partner’ is encouraged to help facilitate your child’s learning during each class. We will utilize Zoom for these classes – the link will be provided after you complete your registration.
Cost: $35/child; 10% discount for MEMBERS (monthly fee)
January: Mondays (1/4, 1/11, 1/18, 1/25); theme is WATER. Grade range: 1st-3rd graders
February: Tuesdays (2/2, 2/9, 2/16, 2/23); theme is LIFE CYCLES. Grade range: 1st-3rd graders
Field Trips for Pods
We are now pre-scheduling field trips from our regular repertoire of school programs, and your homeschool pod can reserve a time to experience it! All of our environmental education programs are aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards or with California’s Social Studies Standards. Each teaching group is limited to 10 students and 2 adults. Check our events calendar for our weekly program offerings; please have one adult sign up the entire pod for each program. Siblings are welcome to attend but they will be counted in the headcount and we still cannot exceed 10 children per pod. We do not accept Charter School funds for these programs; payment must be made at the time of registration.
