Today we’re sharing some short blog posts from the 2nd graders from Ms. Rumsey’s Class at Salem Lutheran School. The students were visited by our Traveling Naturalist Sama and had an opportunity to meet several of our educational animals.
Miss Sama
Today I learned about some really cool animals. There was a Snake, a really cute Bunny, Millimeter and a Cockroach. It was really fun we got to touch them too. We learned that bugs are really important because they help us live. One time some people got all the wolfs and took them to a different place and the deers were so happy they ate all of the plants but they ran out of food so the government said to let the wolf’s back in. I learned that all animals have a purpose. Today was really fun. We learned a lot of new stuff. The girl taught us a lot it was soo much fun! A lot of the stuff was real like the deer leg the deer jaw too. There was also a mountain lion jaw but it was not real because it is really hard to find mountain lions. I also learned about other habitats that was really fun to. I learned about where some animals habitats are and what would happen if u took something off of its body like for example what would happen if u took all of the claws off of a polar bear it wouldn’t be able to protect itself from predators. Today was really interesting because i got to learn about animals and their habitats and stuff like that it was fun. My 3 favorite animals are horses dogs and cats. I don’t know why i like cats so much because i’m allergic to them. It’s so sad. I love animals!!! Another story i know is not one that she told us but it’s one that i saw. So one day there was a dog named Toby he was a present for a four year olds b-day. So she got the dog and she was so happy but the people lived in a apartment with their grandparents. And we learned about lots of ecosystems and what animals and plants live in them. and we learned that some desert bugs poop out soil which is good for the sand and maybe more plants could grow there because the soil needs nutrients because it’s very dry.
