9:30 am - 11:00 am
Join us for a very special Reading in the Redwoods event! Enjoy a classic nature themed book under the canopy of our tallest trees while your family relaxes together on a blanket or towel. Afterward children and their adults will participate in hands-on activities related to the theme of the book. Parents remain with children at all times. All ages welcome. Bring your own blanket or towel.
9:30 – 10AM – Meet one of our Animal Ambassadors during Check-In 9:30-10
10AM – hike out to the Redwoods where we will read “I’m in Charge of Celebrations” by Byrd Baylor.
BOOK SWAP: We would like to invite you to participate in a new feature of our Reading in the Redwoods family literacy program, a Book Swap! After hearing stories under our Redwood trees, families will have a chance to visit our Book Swap Station as one of the scheduled activities in order to exchange books. Please bring your enjoyable read for any level (baby-adult books, nature-related are encouraged but not required). Swapping items reduces waste in the landfill, eliminates packaging, conserves energy, and much more.
