Join us for a Native Plant Uses Walk on November 13! Herbalist William Broen will discuss traditional and modern uses of plants as well as how a plant’s survival tactics affect how they are used by us, how we can tell a lot about plants through our senses, plant folklore, and other related topics.
William’s walks are informative, interactive, accessible, fun, and understandable. He is always happy to share his knowledge of botanical medicine with interested people.
William Broen is a Bioregional Herbalist (one who focuses on local California plants) and he uses a constitutional approach that integrates knowledge and concepts from many world traditions.
William completed a 4 year program at the Pacific School of Herbal Medicine in Oakland, California-a school that focuses on constitutional applications of local and worldwide plants. He is now a member of the American Herbalists Guild.
William was a regional educator for Herb Pharm for 3 years and now does some educational events with another herbal extract company called Wishgarden.
William has been conducting lectures on medicinal and edible plants of California and the Southwestern United States for 20 years. William does these events at over 15 locations, both on his own and through the Fullerton Arboretum, Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden, Follow Your Heart, and other organizations. He has also been featured at the Terra Vita Herb Conference in Laguna Canyon.
