Check out this interview with ENC Camp Director Lori Whalen on Camp Navigator for more info about our Summer Nature Camp!
All Sessions (1:00 PM – 3:00 PM)
Campers can stay for two extra hours of play and learning in Nature. Children are built to play! Campers will participate in activities that create joyful memories, and drive the development of creativity, problem solving skills, self-confidence and leadership ability.
How many campers are in each group? Enrollment is limited to small classes of 15 students per teacher (10 in Regular Camp) with a high school assistant. Campers are divided into groups by age.
After Camp costs $80 per student per session ($72 for members)
Fees include all costs of instruction, laboratory and art supplies, and an organic cotton camp T-shirt.

June 30 – Jul 3
Children will have the (optional) opportunity to participate in “Creative Cooking” for the first half of After Camp. In “Creative Cooking” campers will make and eat a healthy snack each day (see recipes HERE). Younger campers will explore the stream – from the animals inside to the campers refections above. In the “Wild Wild West Coast” older campers will become adventurers in the ENC, discovering what true Nature play really means!
July 7 – 10
Children will have the (optional) opportunity to participate in “Creative Cooking” for the first half of After Camp. In “Creative Cooking” campers will make and eat a healthy snack each day (see recipes HERE). Older campers will work on their hand (and feet) skills. From weaving to walking on homemade stilts we will check out all the old-timey low tech activities. In “Cool people who helped preserve America!” younger campers will go back in time to discover John Muir, Margaret Mead, and Ralph Waldo Emerson.
July 14 – 17
Children will have the (optional) opportunity to participate in “Creative Cooking” for the first half of After Camp. In “Creative Cooking” campers will make and eat a healthy snack each day (see recipes HERE). Younger campers will get crafty with recycled materials. Campers will make awesome stuff like hanging planters and wine cork jewelry! In “Sculpture fun and Nature play” older campers will get clay under their fingernails. They will come home with paint on their shirts, and create memories they can keep forever!
July 21 – 24
In “Take 1, Take 2, Man vs. Wild” younger campers will have some outdoor movie making fun!
Older campers will find new ways to explore science, BIG SCIENCE, tiny science, muuushy e-x-p-a-n-d-i-n-g science and everything in between!
July 28 – 31
In “Behind the Scenes of the ENC” older after-campers will take-on real jobs that ENC staff do on a daily basis. The behind the scenes fun will give them a taste of the real world: in a Nature job that is! In “Wonders of Our Wetlands” younger After Campers will be stationed out of our “secret” marsh area, an area little-used, but full of potential! Campers will closely analyze who (or what) lives in the marsh, get wet doing experiments to learn about pollution, and learn why this area is so important to animals and to us.
August 4 – 7
In “Save Our Survival Skills” older campers will build fires, decide which shelters would work best in which area, and determine what plants would help them “survive” in the wild. Survival skills are built and honed throughout the week.
August 11- 14
In “Amazing Animals” younger campers will take an in-depth look at different types of animals and how they live in their habitats. Through hands-on experiments, games, and even some constructions, campers will get a peak behind how and why animals are the way they are. Appearances by real animals will solidify their knowledge. This will help campers explore their wild side.
In “WATer you making?!!!” older campers will invent their own water games, then lead their own fun water related games!
In “Microscopes and Magnifying glasses” younger campers will explore tiny things in the sea!
