If you’re between 4 and 18, you’re invited to express your experiences, encounters and feelings about nature in the diverse ecosystems of California for the ENC’s 7th Annual Youth Art Showcase.
This is your chance to be “uniquely you” through your imagination and whatever images you choose. Any art medium except film is accepted (photography is welcomed). California has a diversity of ecosystems — forests, woodlands, Costal Sage Scrub, Chaparral, wetlands, intertidal, desert… with an endless variety of native plants and animals.
There’s so much to choose from.
And we’re sure you’ve seen, experienced and explored some of them. Show us what you’ve seen in a way that’s uniquely you and enter the contest.
Have you gone boogie-boarding, sailing, surfing, kayaking, paddling or just splashing through the waves? How ‘bout snorkeling and encountering a fish face-to-face? Or chasing a seagull on the shore? What about a hike or bike in the woods with sycamores, oaks and woodpeckers keeping you company along the trail? Or listening to the giant croak of a tiny Western Toad? Or maybe a trip to the mountains for some hill-time in the snow? Or a trek on the Pacific Crest Trail? The desert is always spectacular, especially in spring bloom.
You get the picture – it’s wide open for your imagination. You get to pick what moves you.
The only stipulation is that your artwork fits through the entry door at ENC! Art entered into the Youth Art Showcase will be on display all day at ENC’s Spring Faire on May 6, 2018. Give us your best creative shot.
