The Teachers Night Out series brings all kinds of educators together for fun afternoons of learning exciting hands-on ways to teach children about science and nature. Everyone is invited! Classroom teachers, outdoor educators, scout leaders, homeschool parents – anyone who wants to be a better educator.
Join us as we walk through the Center, after hours, to discover some fun ways you and your students can learn about butterflies!
The ENC staff will give you some great ideas for incorporating teachable moments – from egg to chrysalis – into your curricula! Fio Gardella has been a beloved ENC naturalist for several years and is passionate about Citizen Science projects that children and families can easily access. Fio will be our guest speaker at this month’s Teacher’s Night Out, where she will highlight some of the various butterfly-oriented citizen science projects out there that you can incorporate into your classroom curriculum. These projects are unique ways of getting your students engaged in real-life science being conducted by researchers all over the world.
