Grounds Manager

The Environmental Nature Center – a 5 acre outdoor classroom displaying 15 native California plant communities – is looking for a self-motivated and professional individual to serve in the role of Grounds Manager. The Grounds Manager is a full time position that is responsible for the protection and enhancement of the Environmental Nature Center’s grounds including the implementation of all improvements and maintenance activities. Experience managing volunteers, knowledge of California native plants, and prior botanical or nature center experience in a related position preferred.

Preschool Director

The Environmental Nature Center is searching to hire a dynamic, proven, energetic forward thinking Nature Preschool Director who is not afraid of getting a little dirty and a little wet now and then. The Nature Preschool Director reports to the Education Director and is responsible for oversight and management of the ENC’s Nature Preschool, including the Preschool’s staff and programming. The Preschool Director will also be responsible for implementation of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accreditation standards, as well as the development and implementation of a strategic business plan for future growth of the program.

The Environmental Nature Center MAY be hiring a part time Naturalist/Camp Teacher to teach outdoor environmental and social science education programs to children in the FALL. The Naturalist/Camp Teacher’s goals are to encourage students’ awareness and appreciation of the environment, broaden students’ knowledge of science concepts, and foster students’ commitment to the protection of the natural environment. Camp Teachers are responsible for creating and implementing age and theme-appropriate curriculum for the sessions of camp they are scheduled to teach.
